Oxford Professional Consulting (OPC) combines its expertise and experience to provide solutions for international or mixed-nationality projects which involve leadership development, team-building and communication.

OPC will advise you and manage the project. We also supply trainers, coaches, and appropriate specialists from our network of associates.

Case-study: presentation skills

A large multi-national company asks OPC to collaborate on a programme of advanced media training for country managers. The project needs a half-day slot on presentation skills to form part of the seminar.

OPC will contribute the OPC Presentation Preparation Method and coach the high-level participants in presenting to international audiences. OPC works with the client to design the content of the media seminar, devises a train-the-trainer programme and creates materials for use company-wide. A senior OPC consultant will deliver 2 pilot courses and coach in-company trainers to deliver the course.

Case-study: Introducing coaching into school management

The education department of a city council in the north of England wants to introduce coaching as a management skill, both in the council and for managers, senior leadership teams and advisors in schools.

OPC runs an initial Introduction to Coaching workshop for them, followed by 13 repeat courses as a result. OPC then organises and delivers training for the ILM Certificate in Coaching for over 40 teachers and school leaders to become qualified workplace coaches. In addition, two schools request a 2-day coaching workshop for their leadership teams, so that they can experience coaching and decide whether it is appropriate to their organisations. A third school asks OPC to coach members of its senior leadership team individually, with the aim of developing leadership skills and increasing understanding of the benefits of coaching for the school.

In all and as a result of this project, more than 10 schools in the area are in the process of adopting coaching, or have adopted it, as part of their staff's Continuous Professional Development programme. They use OPC as leadership coaches and trainers as well as in advisory and supervisory capacities. Case-study: improving business with France and Spain

A UK tool-making company north of London is exporting to France and Spain. They commission an Export Communications Review because they want to increase their export business. The ECR indicates strengths and weaknesses in how they communicate at present and gives recommendations.

For example, they receive practical advice on how to make their web-site more easily understood by their European partners, on speaking International English, on how to manage telephone calls more effectively and how to solve problems over technical terminology.

One of their telephonists wants to learn French; she is given a selection of options to suit the company budget, from easily obtained courses on CD to face-to-face lessons at a local college.
