OPC trains and coaches both groups and individuals to present information effectively in meetings in the UK and internationally. In business, whether face-to-face, on the telephone, in a mixed-nationality negotiation or a presentation, it is important to be clear, confident and make a positive impact.

We help you to be understood and to understand

Your ability to build business and professional relationships is all-important. It depends on how you interact with people on a personal level, how you speak and how well you listen.

The way you speak is important too. If your voice is unusually quiet, you may appear to lack confidence. If your pronunciation is unusual or you have a heavy foreign accent, you may be hard to understand. However fluent you are, if your English sounds different from what your listeners are accustomed to, they will be confused. And if your English is perfect but your delivery very fast, you may be impossible for international colleagues to understand.

We make sure you are understood more easily in the UK, in mixed-nationality situations and when you work with foreign partners.

To develop your skills in International English, we show you the areas where problems are likely to occur and ways in which you can overcome them. If you need to improve your English for work

If your English is weak because it is not your first language or if you lack confidence in English in business and professional situations, we have a department of language specialists called Oxford Professional English who will help you. So we help your English in three specific ways:

• Practical strategies to use at work when you communicate ideas and information in English
• Coaching to build confidence when using English in specified work-related situations, or
• An English language training programme specially for you

The Oxford Professional English team can help you improve in speaking and understanding English, including grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. They will also coach you to achieve more confident and effective English writing skills, through learning to avoid common errors, understanding the grammar system and improving style or punctuation.

The Export Communications Review

OPC can also give you an Export Communications Review as part of the range of consultancy we offer. An OPC consultant helps you increase export volume through increased cultural sensitivity and communication skills.
